Most Beloved of Herself

He asked if she was okay
what if she wasn't?
was he going to have a change of heart?
she laugh out for him to see but wept deep in her heart
she tried so hard to forget him but remember him yet
her love for him consumes her yet she need be strong

she smiles while pretending she never loved him
she has to be happy when she sees him smile at another
she never shew signs of jealousy because she wanted him happy
does what she wants really count?
she hates herself for letting down her pride
for letting him know how much she cares

pain consumes her
loneliness engulfs her
she laughs in her tears
like the sun during rain
she promised herself never to love again
"but why hurt myself for you" she said

for someone who never looked at her
who never considered her a woman
she puts her pain and loneliness to work
never to be hurt again by love she said to herself
'' i am the most beloved of myself'' she affirmed
goodbye to you.

she is stronger than she appears
she handles her pain in style
even the sky is afraid of her roar
she pushes for more though it hurts
she makes her pain her driving force
she doesn't indulge in self-pity
she is the most beloved of herself.

PAPA BLUE

Years back as a kid I came across this very interesting commercial for the Vicks blue medicated methanol lozenges. The man used in this commercial was funny though but after all said and down he gave the lozenges a nick name "Papa Blue" and up until now people still refer to the lozenges as Papa Blue even though some don't really know how the name came about. That's how life works.   Bringing this commercial down to our very lives, Do people have our names on their lips? What I mean is this- Have we been able to make impact on others? You may or maybe not agree with me that some persons live the I don't care kind of life but the truth is it doesn't help. We ought to learn living our lives with the mindset of impacting others positively so when we are no more or even now our footprint will be left in the sand of time. We are here to make impact to even the generation yet unborn not just to occupy space. In the words of Warren Buffet "Someone is sitting...

AND HER LOOKS I STOLE

An heroine she was An epitome of beauty Her skin as fair as the lilies Her eyes glows like the sun Her hair was black and beautiful It was her in my father's heart The first one he ever loved It was her in our hearts And her looks I stole A woman of strength A picture of virtue and fame She soils her hands in seasons Making the family one My first best friend Her pride I was Her firstborn child And her looks I stole Get me something was our last Mummy mummy I called But there wasn't one to answer I was furious at her Where could she have gone I thought Why isn't she here She travelled I was told I didn't know she was gone It was her in our Heart A vacuum has been created We were told to put it behind Years has passed Our heroine, Our strength And her looks I stole.
